Strategic Social Media Starts with a Plan

social media strategyHaving a plan is important, whether you are hiking the Appalachian trail, building a house or conducting strategic social media. Atlanta intown home builder Van Hardimon Homes hired the Denim Marketing team to create a strategic approach to his company’s social media marketing, including Facebook, Instagram and advertising. As a boutique, in-fill builder, Van focuses on building intown homes that are energy-efficient, affordable, and offer convenience and walkability. His current project, Westside Crossing, features seven single-family homes. These contemporary homes feature unique architecture, covered entryways and bright colors. A true limited opportunity, home plans offer 1,608 square feet of well-planned, livable space which includes three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths, as well as a one-car garage. Homes also feature lots of natural light, beautiful hardwood floors throughout, rooftop decks and front balconies.

Van Hardiman, president of Van Hardiman Homes, says, “This is a great opportunity to buy in intown Atlanta. Why throw money away renting, or with a long commute, when you can own a home?”

Prior to March 2019, Van Hardimon Homes had no presence on social media and no strategy for how to use the sites. Denim Marketing created Facebook and Instagram sites and a strategic plan for posting. By creating a monthly content calendar that focuses on what makes Van Hardimon Homes unique, and with consistent and strategic posting, frequent interaction by the page manager and a dedicated advertising budget, the social media sites are now a major component for the company’s marketing strategy, assisting with growing the brand, promoting the new developments, and driving traffic to the company website.

Since launching the Van Hardimon Homes social media sites, traffic to the website has increased significantly. Prior to March 10, the website had received zero clicks from social media sites. Since March 10, there have been a total of 783 clicks from social media to the website, with 463 of those clicks coming from Facebook.

The Facebook page has earned nearly 80,000 impression in less than 90 days, as well as 531 engagements and 839 link clicks. Compared to the previous 90 days, Facebook fans, total impressions and total engagements have more than doubled! The page has also grown to 307 likes with 315 followers in the first 90 days.

Our concentrated social media marketing strategy for Facebook includes graphics, photos, videos and copy with specific messaging and calls to action – primarily clicks to the website or phone calls. We post a minimum of three times a week and work to include a wide variety of content.

In order to stay up-to-date on all of Van Hardimon Homes’ projects, we meet monthly to talk about the construction schedule, finishes, new projects and other trends and ideas. From this meeting, we create a social media calendar that covers 30 to 45 days and is unique to this client. Once approved, we post status updates on Facebook and Instagram. We consistently monitor social sites for engagement opportunities, update scheduled posts as needed and post time sensitive updates as they happen. The content that we write for Van Hardimon Homes is unique to the builder and each post has a call to action.
